Forest Heritage Festival Exhibits
Check out the old and new used in forestry. Try your hand at ax tossing, rail splitting,
craft making, or enjoy a good story. The Forest Heritage Festival provides a variety of exciting exhibits.
There is lots to do for kids. Take a look at a few of the exhibits at past festivals.
There are all types of wood workers demonstrating their skills; such as the chainsaw carver on the left and the
the use of the old table scroll saw below to make creative wooden masterpieces.
Various equipment is used to demonstrate how logs are transformed into usable products; such as the 3-point hitch
wood splitter (right) to make firewood splitting painless and a portable band-saw mill (below) to produce lumber.
Many of the exhibits are hands-on. Test your ability at splitting fence rails (left), if you have strength
left, try your luck at tossing an ax (below)and getting a bulls-eye,
check your coordination and walk on stilts (left), or
escape into the stories of old as they are masterfully told by a pioneer storyteller(right),
